Transplant Fellowship Application & Requirements

All application materials should be submitted directly to the UCSF Abdominal Transplant Fellowship Program. Fellows will be selected through the Abdominal Transplant Surgery Fellowship Match operated by the National Resident Matching Program.

All applicants must have completed a general surgery residency program by the date his/her fellowship begins.

Required Documents

  1. Curriculum Vitae
  2. Personal Statement (2 page maximum).
  3. Applicant Questionnaire Form
  4. A minimum of two (2) and maximum of four (4) Letters of Recommendation. The original letters of recommendation must be sent directly via U.S. mail to:

Concerns for International Medical Graduates (IMGs): 

Please note that if you are not a U.S. Permanent Resident and/or have not received medical training in the U.S., obtaining the required visa and medical license is a lengthy, unpredictable, and potentially expensive process. If you are invited for an interview, our administrative staff will provide specific information regarding the process and requirements.

Key Dates for Match & Interview Process 

February 1, 2016 Application deadline for June 2017 Match.
No new candidate materials will be accepted after this date.
Early March 2016  Candidates selected for interviews
May 2016  Interviews - Date/s to be determined
June 15, 2016 NRMP Match Day

The UCSF Kidney/Pancreas/Liver Fellowship Program accepts three candidates every two years.

Although we do have a specific deadline for each application cycle, applications are accepted throughout the year. It is your responsibility, as the applicant, to make sure that your file is complete.
