The UCSF Kidney/Pancreas/Liver Fellowship Program accepts three candidates every two years. During the years in which two fellows are accepted, one candidate begins training in July and the other begins his/her training the following January.

Although we do have a specific deadline for each application cycle, applications are accepted throughout the year. It is your responsibility, as the applicant, to make sure that your file is complete.

Interview Process

Interviews will typically be held in late April or early May. For these interview sessions, we will ask that you arrive on Friday and stay until Saturday midday. Our program will start with an in-depth informational session followed by interviews with both surgical and medical faculty (Nephrology and Hepatology), and the program will conclude with dinner with the members of the staff. On Saturday, you will be able to observe team rounds, go on a tour of the hospital, and, most importantly, spend some "alone time" with our current fellows.
